Robin
Robin

I was feeding the birds and this lovely robin was a frequent visitor.  He is perfect for a Christmas card, but was so hard to get a good photo of – I have plenty of duds!  This is another photo taken with the 55-300mm lens, and I took it through my back window.

In the depths of winter the sun doesn’t rise high enough to get into the back garden except for half an hour or so around midday, so although it was a bright sunny day I didn’t have to contend with the harsh highlights and shadows that direct sunlight would produce.
