Flying Scotsman (15 May 2016)

Flying Scotsman
Flying Scotsman
After her return to steam, Flying Scotsman paid a visit to Scotland. Along with many others I got out my long lens and stood on top of the multi-story car park at the Ferrytoll Park & Ride. She was idling down from the bridge and the background of bright yellow gorse wasn’t ideal, but I was delighted to see her.

She is currently turned out in her BR guise, complete with smoke deflectors. Personally I think there is almost no colour better than BR Green for almost any steam engine, other than Garter Blue on an A4 and black on Black 5s and Black 8s.

Leeds City Station (24th Oct 2006)

I have enjoyed railways for many years, and had watched the redevelopment of Leeds City Station with great interest.  I moved to Fife just as they were finishing it, but a business visit to Leeds gave me the chance to see the finished article.  This was taken on my way out of the station having just arrived from Fife.

By now I was starting to take photography much more seriously, and was having fun with fancy editing techniques.

The Iron Road (12th May 2006)

I was struck by the rails vanishing into the distance, if only there had been a train coming towards me on the far set!  I hasten to add I was in a safe position at a level crossing which gives an audible warning if a train is due.
