Ice Trek (17th Feb 2010)

Ice Trek
Ice Trek

Sometimes the swans on Gaddon Loch got lucky and someone would feed them.  Here they are trekking back from the edge to one of the holes in the ice.  There was a lot of goose and swan poo on the ice and I cloned some of it out.

Mute Swan Preening (17th Sep 2009)

Also taken at Birnie Loch with my new lens.  I think this is a cob (male) swan, and he was busy preening and not concerned about me taking photos of him.

This was taken in the late afternoon, but mute swans do have warm colours in their neck feathers – just not quite was warm as here!
