Winter left very, very early in 2025, though an up-side was being able to go Munro-bagging earlier in the year than I expected. Ben Chonzie is often touted as an ‘easy for beginners’ Munro, and yes, it’s straightforward in decent visibility and not too long a drive.
However I checked the walk reports on WalkHighlands, and decided to start from Glen Turret rather than the usual Glen Lednock. To mix it up further, I traversed the mountain rather than going back the way I’d ascended. That had an ‘interest’ steep descent and a long walk back along Loch Turret.
