I think this day had some of the best scenery from beautiful sandy beaches to rocky points and headlands, and the start of the mining area (think Poldark!) near St Just. There was also Ballowall Barrow which I circumnavigated. According to Wikipedia it contains signs of use in both Neolithic and Bronze ages.
As I walked through the field with the Longhorn cattle and looked at their horns, I reminded myself they would only put very calm cattle in a field with a public path through and took comfort that they didn’t have any calves.
When I got to Cape Cornwall I found the shop in the car park was open, so I had a break and an ice cream.
As I walked towards where the old tin mines were, I saw the famous two buildings known as ‘the Crowns’, just before Botallack head.
As I arrived at my B&B the GPS said ‘9 miles’ – and there was 2,415′ of ascent as well!
