I set out to visit the waterfall in Maspie Den, thinking there would be interesting ice formations. There probably was, but the path was closed due to erosion and a land slip, so instead I visited the Tyndall-Bruce Monument. It’s at 230m (750′) and the wind there was strong and bitter.
Just as I left the Monument the sky & light was changing and there was a brief moment when I was able to get this photo. It’s hard to see on this small-ish version, but there is a person on top of East Lomond and three more on the slope to the right of the summit. There are also tracks from people slaloming through the powder snow, a little below the summit.
The walking was fabulous, on snow the whole way up & down, and that was fortunate. My tracker had slipped off on the way up and I was able to find it on the way down – it is black and showed up well against the snow.
