I treated myself to a second hand lens, a Sigma DG 50-500mm 1:4.5-6.3 APO HSM. That’s a bit of a mouthful, and it’s a heavy beast as well that needs firm support to avoid camera shake. Birnie Loch struck me as the obvious place to try it out! I was pretty impressed with the reach, and the quality of the images.

As well as the obvious Mute Swans and Mallards, there are a number of other species present including Widgeon, Pochard and Goosander.
