This was the day I climbed my first Munro for many, many years. It was a gorgeous day and the walk up Glen Clova and into Corrie Fee was gorgous. At the back of the corrie, where it steepens, is a very well angled path.
Corrie Fee is an NNR, though I don’t know enough about botany to really appreciate it. It’s also a beautiful example of a glacial corrie, and drumlins can be seen in one of the photos.
The first mile and a bit of the walk is along Jocks’ Road, one of the old droving routes across the Tolmounth in this case from Braemar and down Glen Clova to Cullow.
The intention was to climb Driesh as well, but when I reached the col between them I felt it would be a hill too far. The wobbly state of my legs when I got back down to level ground showed it was a good decision!
