I visited Orkney with a friend and we both loved it, to the extent we are going back next Summer. I forgot to take the Pentax etc. which was a bit of a handicap when it came to photos of the wildlife!
Of course we visited Skara Brae, but earlier that day we went to Yesnaby and then we continued round the coast via The Barony and the Sands of Evie. We got to the beach at just the right time – the tide was ebbing, and although they were over a mile we could hear the tidal races either side of Eynhallow.
