These two Munros form a long, fairly level ridge to the east of Drumochter pass which I found myself imagining XC skiing along. There is a very well-made path most of the way up, which used to serve a small quartz quarry.
Parts of the ridge were very boggy and it was well worth detouring round them. Being up there when the ground was frozen would be a distinct advantage.
When I got down the the car I was very footsore, and realised I needed far better footwear plus some help from a podiatrist. I was also astonished to see the walk had been 12.4 miles long!
