I drove from Huddersfield to near Helston in two stages, and arrived early enough to visit Lizard Point – the south-most place in the UK mainland. I took photos with either the Pentax DSLR, or my phone, depending on if I wanted a wider view than the 55-300 lens on the Pentax would give.

Unfortunately the lighthouse wasn’t open to visitors.

Parking as far down as I could drive wasn’t an especially bright idea, but I had the boat shown in one of the photos being towed up behind me so the chap coming the other way down a narrow, sunken lane had no choice but to back up – and he made a pig’s ear of it!
