Another ‘must’ when visiting Cornwall is St Ives, which has lots of beaches, shops, cafes, and artists plus of course Tate St Ives. Again, the weather was not of the best but I felt it was far more photogenic than blue skies and bright sun would have been, and also once again it was hard to know when to stop taking photos!
We took the train from St Erth and it was clear that parking at St Ives can be ‘challenging’. Even in the middle of the week in October everything was open, and there were plenty of people around.
As well as the inevitable gulls after crumbs from people’s food, there were turnstones as well, which are delightful little waders who winter in the UK.
Once again we were dodging showers, and we went to the café in the Tate during one of them. The café was on the top floor and turned out to have a viewing platform protected by Perspex, which I made good use of.
