The Prater amusement park and the very famous Riesenrad wheel were next. The park and wheel are famous in part as they were one of the locations for that wonderful film, The Third Man. I had also wanted to see the sewers used towards the end, but we were too early in the year – tours of those only start in May. We met my friend’s daughter, her partner and their daughter there.
The views from the wheel unfold slowly – it doesn’t go fast, and while it’s loading us into the cars keeps stopping. It has some special cars for dinning, and one with a glass floor!
