The journey home (17 Apr 2025)

It was time to leave. I took pot luck with my seat on the plane home and got lucky – I had a window seat far enough back that the wing wasn’t obscuring my view. When we got to our destination there was the usual massive queue for Border Control. The ‘welcome’ sign seemed like an insult. Thankfully there are toilets before one has to go through! My suitcase was waiting for me once I escaped.

However my window seat gave me great views of the clouds, the Humber estuary, Kielder Water, the Solway Firth and Leith Harbour
