We sauntered around the head of the Loch to junction with the minor road to Succoth.  There was some wonderful lighting as heavy showers drifted through from Glen Croe &#8211; luckily they missed us!&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This pier was part of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secretscotland.org.uk\/index.php\/Secrets\/LochLongTorpedoRange\">Naval torpedo testing facility<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I had the massive thrill of watching gannets fish for the first time.&nbsp; Unfortunately I didn&#8217;t (and don&#8217;t) have a lens with sufficient reach to make anything worthwhile of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After our walk we had a splendid pub lunch at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.classicinns.co.uk\/villageinnarrochar\">Village Inn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul id=\"wp-image-\" class=\"exif\"><li class=\"shutter_speed\">Shutter speed:\u00a01\/1000s<\/li><li class=\"aperture\">Aperture:\u00a0&#402;\/7.1<\/li><li class=\"iso\">ISO:\u00a0400<\/li><li class=\"focal_length\">Focal length:\u00a0210mm<\/li><li class=\"created_timestamp\">Taken:\u00a017 August, 2014 15:08<\/li><li class=\"camera\">Camera:\u00a0PENTAX K-5 II<\/li><\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I met up with a friend at Arrochar, Loch Fyne.
