John Knox’s Pulpit was a rock formation overlooking Glenvale in North-east Fife. There is a lovely 4-mile circular walk from the car park on the minor road from Wester Balgeddie to Strathmiglo. This used to be the route used by the monks on St Serf’s Island to go to St Andrews.
The heather was in full bloom, though it was relatively cool so it’s aroma was muted. There had been a huge amount of rain a couple of days before which caused lots of landslips including across the path back down to the car. It was a somewhat muddy and sticky experience walking across it.
